John & Sharon Irvin celebrated their 30 year anniversary of Oct 17th, by taking a week-long vacation in January to San Diego, CA. They flew out with their son Lance & wife Jessie Thurs, January 17th. The next day they took in the San Diego Zoo where they viewed the baby panda, along with mother panda. We saw koalas and the polar bear happened to be entertaining that day. We went whale watching and ate at some great restaurants in San Diego. Lance & Jessie had to leave on Monday, but we enjoyed Oceanside resort with a great pier on the ocean there with a Ruby’s restaurant on the end. There were lots of surfers in the ocean right by the resort. We rented a vehicle, but took the train into San Diego and walked downtown most of Wednesday, taking a short ride along the harbor ‘on a passenger bicycle’.
