Our sympathy to the family of Wilbur L. Albers, 91, who died at LaCrosse on March 20, 2015. He was born February 3, 1924 in rural Hargrave to Albert Leslie and Gladys (Williams) Albers. He was a 1942 graduate of LaCrosse Rural High School. He married Reni Yost on October 9, 1947 in LaCrosse. She died April 12, 1999. He is survived by sons, Randy, David and Steven and a daughter Reni Jo. Potter, brother, Euriel Albers, 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Clark, Nicole and Madison Kirk, Burrton and Michele Moran and Marge Moran spent Spring Break in Branson, Missouri.

Some of the items he Jail/Museum has received recently are the following : A 1991 Community Calendar, sponsored by the Golden Agers; an article From the Collections of the Kansas State Historical Society 1923-1925 entitled Recollections of William Schutte; receipts from Dugan Implement Co. in 1951; Copy of book written by P. J. Jennings about settlers north of McCracken from 1875 to 1882; Census of 1880 for Hampton Township; a 1945 Gas Exemption book; a calendar from 1776 to 2000; the 8 wonders of Rush County; a receipt from Tittel's Cash Grocery of McCracken in 1930; a newspaper article about the Regional Class B Basketball tournaments whose winners will play at Convention Hall; a map of Maj. Gen. Winfield S. Hancock's march from Fort Larned to the Indian village on the Pawnee fork, in pursuit of Indians who escaped from Bvt. Maj. Gen George A. Custer (from book of Minnie Dubbs Millbrook); copies of court proceedings about the district clerk of Rush County after the courthouse was moved from Walnut City to LaCrosse; Ordination and Installation booklets of the fifth and sixth Bishop of Dodge City, Ronald M. Gilmore and John B. Brungardt. There are other items in the file. They may be viewed at any time at the museum.

Sonja Conner has given two pictures to the Jail/Museum - one of the rock church and rectory in the country and one of St. Mary's Church in McCracken.

Mike, Susan and Shannon Keith have returned from Spring Break in Florida where they saw Spring Training games at Jupiter and Port St. Lucie. They also visited Naples on the west coast.
