We lost two veterans this week, both served in the U.S.Army. Gene Littler and Ben Thompson were born in or near McCracken to pioneer families. Gene's and Ben's families settled in nearly the same area prior to the town of McCracken. They were near the Fort-Hays Fort Dodge road. Gene's family were Littlers and Ben's were Forbes.

Jim and Elizabeth Dale, Philadelphia took a road trip to Memphis, from there they came to McCracken and were Friday overnight guests of Joann Micheli. They were In McCracken two years ago for the wedding of Audra and Flynn and enjoyed the little town very much. They loved the peace and quiet, they enjoyed walks. They have a new grandson in Longmont they were anxious to see so they left the next morning

The McCracken Swimming pool appreciates the McCracken Rodeo for the generous donation; it came at just the right time as it helped fix some repairs.

It was nice seeing and visiting with Dolores and Maddie Petz in church Saturday evening.

After a beautiful weekend at Ponca City, Celebrating Howard & Ruth Ann (Sloan) Sissel 50th wedding anniversary, I (Norma McNair) brought my grandchildren Mason, Hunter, and Maverick and daughter Jamie DeWitt back to McCracken. We spent a week of great fun, everything from riding bikes, jumping on the trap to swing on the rope swing, riding the golf cart (and a lot of pushing the golf cart), also learned to deliver newspapers, to movie night at the Andersons and THANK YOU Kevin and Valerie, to swimming at the pool, they also went with grandma to see the church in Ransom and helped fold bulletins for church Sunday and eat at Loafs & Fish’s for lunch. We had many laughs and great times and when they left we had some sad children but the good part is they will be back together again sometime and we will do it all over again and memories for a life time.

GLOW BALL TOURNAMENT Saturday evening, August 20th, MCC hosted an “unscheduled” 2 person glow ball tournament and pot luck dinner.
