Patricia Petz:

What a busy week!  I was needed every day either at the Elementary or High School.  At this time of year, there is always a lot of Doctor appointments, sicknesses, and unfortunately funerals to attend to.

I had an enjoyable evening on Monday, as I attended the Elementary Winter Concert.  lt always seems
Iike the younger students put on an enjoyable program singing their songs.  The K-2 students had the audience laughing throughout their program entitled "Elflandia." The older students from grades 3 - 6 provided a reenactment from the "Nutcracker Suite" and did a very nice job.  It made for a very late evening for me, but I'm glad that I stayed to watch them!

After school on Friday, I stopped by to see mom and discovered that she had many visitors.  Bob and Linda Stone from Topeka had stopped in to visit before their trip back home. Maynard Steitz from Locust Grove  had also stopped in to visit with his niece and nephew.  After they left, mom came with me to spend the night.  Later that evening, Angie, Trent, Drake, and Grant came from McPherson to spend the night.

We were all up early on Saturday morning, so that we could head to the Hays Rec to watch Drake and the McPherson team play basketball throughout the day.  He had games at 9, 11, 2, and 4.  WOW!  What a busy day.  Unfortunately, Drake's team lost all of their games.  Angie and Trent had to leave early for a Christmas party back in McPherson, so the boys stayed overnight with me.  After the games, Drake, Grant, and I got us something to eat and then headed to the movies to watch "The Grinch."  Kameron and Kallynn Petz, two of my other grandchildren from Hays, joined us to watch this delightful movie.

Although I was up early, I soon discovered that this "Grandma" was rather slow in getting herself, two grandchildren, and a dog kenneled up before heading to church.  After church, the boys, Great-Grandma Mary, and I had a delicious fried chicken meal at the Parish Center.  Then we headed to Great Bend to deliver the boys back to their parents.  After a little bit of Christmas shopping mom and I headed back home.  It was nice to finally relax after a long week of hustle and bustle!
